Procrastinator’s Creed

30 09 2007
I have this awesome poster called, amazingly, the ” Procrastinator’s Creed”. I had to throw it away because it was all torn and wrinkled now so I am putting the Creed her on my blog to immortalize it.
(I am sure this is owned by someone but I don’t know who, it is not mine, don’t sue me.)

1. I believe that if anything is worth doing, it would have been done already.

2. I shall never move quickly, except to avoid more work or find excuses.

3. I will never rush into a job without a lifetime of consideration.

4. I shall meet all of my deadlines directly in proportion to the amount of bodily injury I could
expect to receive from missing them.

5. I firmly believe that tomorrow holds the possibility for new technologies, astounding discoveries, and a reprieve from my obligations.

6. I truly believe that all deadlines are unreasonable regardless of the amount of time given.

7. I shall never forget that the probability of a miracle, though infinitesimally small, is not exactly zero.

8. If at first I don’t succeed, there is always next year.

9. I shall always decide not to decide, unless of course I decide to change my mind.

10. I shall always begin, start, initiate, take the first step, an/or write the first word, when I get around to it.

11. I obey the law of inverse excuses which demands that the greater the task to be done, the more insignificant the work that must be done prior to beginning the greater task.

12. I know that the work cycle is not plan/start/finish, but is wait/wait/plan.

13. I will never put off until tomorrow, what I can forget about forever.

14. I will become a member of the Ancient Order of Two-Headed Turtles (the Procrastinator’s Society) if they ever get it organized.

Crazy things I Do When I’m Bored

25 09 2007

The other night I got a new hanging mirror for the back of my bedroom door. When I got home I realized that it would be a little harder to put the screws in than I thoguht since there were no pre-made holes in it. Since I didn’t want to break this mirror like I did with my old one I put it in the guest room across the hall. So where does the whole me being bored thing come in?
I had set the mirror on the floor and looked in it which was kind of weird to see since it was on the floor. the bored part is the pictures I took.

Limbo

25 09 2007

I have been ready to finish school and graduate for so long, and now I have. It’s not what i thought it would be like though. Last fall I had all these plans and ideas of what I was going to do once I graduated. I was going to go to Germany for my capstone internship. While over there I was going to do some traveling, visit some friends I made at CLH and maybe even somehow get a permanent job.
Well, that didn’t turn out how I wanted. I ended up hurting my knee once again the end of last October. My doctor said it would be a good idea for me to have knee surgery, because my knees shouldn’t still be popping out ofter 10 years. So in mid May I had surgery on my left knee which means I didn’t get to go to Germany and ended staying at home and working at one of my Girl Scout Councils day camp locations. Since it was a day camp my permanent job plan didn’t work out so well either. In fact, since camp ended the middle of August I have been unemployed and still living at home. I applied to REI, but they haven’t called me. Could be my lack of experience with retail work but my bet is they didn’t want to hire me then have me out of work a month later when I have surgery on my right knee.

So… Right now I am living in limbo. I am having surgery in about a month so I can’t do any real job hunting at any of the places I would like to work because most likely they will end up being out of state. I also am not looking all that hard for a job here is GSO because I either do not have the experience or do not want to work at places here. Like the receptionist job at the GS council? So not me. I am glad that Amanda C. got the job. I can picture her being good at it.
Mom sugested that I try to get a job at The Club (the gym she and dad have been members at. I also started going there once I was done with PT so I can continue to strengthen my knee’s. Mom says they are always hiring. Plus, I could sit down if I was working at the front desk. Then for mom there is the added advantage that if I got a job there it would mean I got free membership so she would not have to pay for me anymore.
I wish job hunting was easier.
I would also dearly love to not live at home for much longer. Once my surgery is done and I have a bit of money saved up I am going to have to work on that. I will also have to work on gaining my financial independence. Mom and Dad still pay for my cell phone, own my car, pay for all my insurance (which they can keep paying that) and other stuff.

So yeah, life never does go how you plan it. Wouldn’t it be nice if it did?
I do have some other plans and dreams and I will do my best to help them come to fruition. I want to work on a Disney Cruise Ship as a Youth Counselor, I want to go to Gallaudet and study Sign Language in some fashion (most likely their interpreter program), and so much more.
Maybe I should make a list of the things I need to do to accomplish these goals…

LOL…

I saw this on someones bio on fanfiction.net. I thought it was funny so here you go… Enjoy

You know you live in 2006 when…

1.) You accidentally enter your password on a microwave.

2.) You haven’t played solitaire with real cards for years

3.) The reason for not staying in touch with your friends is they don’t have a screenname or my space

4.) You’d rather look all over the house for the remote instead of just pushing the buttons on the TV

6.) Your boss doesn’t even have the ability to do your job.

7.) As you read this list you keep nodding and smiling.

8.) As you read this list you think about sending it to all your friends.

9.) and you were too busy to notice number 5.

10.) You scrolled back up to see if there was a number 5.

11.) Now you are laughing at yourself stupidly.

12.) Put this in your profile if you fell for that, and you know you did.

random rantings

24 09 2007

Hey, this is cool… I like this music signatures thing. Though since I don’t really think anyone reads this it doest matter all that much. Well, I guess it is kinda neat to see what I was listening to at the time.
I am so bored right now, I’ve been done with camp for a little over a month. which means I’ve been unemployed for a little over a month and since I just graduated from college that means I have not much to other than sit around home all day. I can’t even do any serious job searching because I will be having knee surgery in about a month and then the long road to recovery. damn, I hate knee surgery. My left knee is not back to 100% yet, I really don’t want to go through it all again. I wont even be able to drive as soon since it will be my right knee this time. Damn.
Okay, I am done with the rantings for now…
