Gas Prices

17 09 2008

So, about a week ago I was out with a friend and while we were out I decided to fill up my gas tank even though I had about a 1/4th a tank left. At The Kangaroo, one of the cheapest gas stations, gas was $3.49/ gal. Last night, just a week and a half later it was at $3.99/ gal. Boy am I glad I got gas then, I am almost scared to see what it is today. I really do not want to see gas prices over $4. I remember when the great stops at home first opened and gas was $0.89. All the other places around it were over a dollar but it was nice to see those prices.I think I must have been 15 or 16 becasue I wasn’t paying for the gas yet.

Any way, I wish prices were like that still. Boy do I love my Hyundai Elantra and its excelent gas millage now!

My Odomiter (?)

A brief history on the car birthday. Jeremy and I used to have this Klutz travel book that had all sorts of fun activities and games and stuff. One of the things is to sing happy birthday to your car every time you get a new , hundred, thousand, etc, miles on your car.

NEW CAR!!

23 05 2008

Last week I spent most of my Saturday at the Hyundai dealership in Greensboro with Dad and after a few hours Mom joined us. We traded my Volvo in for a 2008 Hyundai Elantra. I got a new car! (and car payments!) I love my car. It’s got a CD player, a place to plug in my iPod, XM radio (free for 3 months), sun roof, heated cloth seats, nice windshield wipers. And then there is the important stuff acording to dad, the ESC (electronic stability control.)

I also managed to put about 500 miles on it in about a day of owning it. Guess thats what happens when I drive through 4 states the day after I get it.

Pictures to come when I have the time and my car is clean…

I spent the last week at home in NC. I saw lots of family on mothers day, also saw lots of movies. I went to see Ironman with JJ and Matthew. It wasn’t exactly what I was expecting (not sure what I was expecting) but I liked it a lot. It was better than some of the other Marvel movies I’ve seen (Spiderman 3 for example). I saw Narnia: Prince Caspian with mom. It was amazing! I remembered some of it from the book. I brought mu Narnia books on CD back with me so that maybe I will get around to ‘reading’ them. I have till 2010 to read the Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

The other really good movie I saw was Music Within. It was terrific! It’s about this guy who comes back from the Vietnam War mostly deaf. It goes through his life and the process of creating the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act). There is even a special feature with the real guy talking about his life and why he made the ADA. This is definitely a must see movie!
